GURMAN'S ENGLISH BREAKFAST black tea
A blend of black Indian, Java and Ceylon plantation teas with an intense flavour, rich aroma and a slight caramel finish.
The British and Irish have been drinking a black tea blend for breakfast since ancient times. The term 'English breakfast' has been used by vendors since at least the late 17th century, despite strong evidence that these blends originated in Ireland.
The current name, unlike the blend itself, is said to have originated in America in colonial times, while in the UK the popularity of breakfast tea is partly attributed to Queen Victoria. In 1892, she tasted and loved the named blend in Balmoral, Ireland, and returned to London with a supply of it.
Ingredients: black tea.
Preparation: 1 tea spoon; 100 ⁰C; min. 3-4.
Storage conditions: to preserve the tea's natural flavour and aroma, we recommend storing it in a tightly sealed box in a cool, dry place, away from strong-flavoured products.
